Let us take you on a journey of design.
Every step of your journey, every decision we help you make will be led by the simple ambition of enriching your life through quality design. The word ‘Designer’ within our brand refers to a person, not a well marketed product within a glossy brochure. It is the skill and engagement of our design team that will make the difference to your experience. With a focus on this ethos, all the unnecessary elements typically found within the fitted furniture industry have been stripped away, and the lines between the two worlds of kitchen and interior design have been blurred to create a unique and exciting offering.
A critical aspect of this unusual approach is the omission of a typical showroom. Freed of the shackles commonly found within this mainstream business model such as large overheads and commitments to specific, mass-produced products, we avoid creating an overly pressurised culture that is dependent upon large project volumes and swift turnover. Our belief is that these characteristics only serve to distract us from our purpose and hinder the experience we share with our clients. Rather, we choose to work with you at your home, or, in the near future, from our working design studio – whichever suits you best.
The result of our unique approach is an enduring relationship between designer and client, with an experience and end result that is unrivalled. It is quite simply, a journey that is an absolute pleasure to be a part of.

We are delighted to announce plans for our exciting design studio in the west end of Aberdeen, which will be launched in November 2019.
The hub of our design practice, the studio is a creative and inspirational place in which we design, research and generally live and breathe the world of kitchen and interior design. We invite our clients to join us here, in this perfect environment in which they can meet, chat, create, cook, dine and generally immerse themselves in their project resulting in the most enjoyable of experiences and the most impressive end results. A kitchen is no longer simply a place to store and prepare food. It’s the centre stage of life at home. It’s also the heart of Designer Kitchens & Interiors. An inspiring space in which we cook, eat, relax and share company with those we hold dearest. Through quality design and a real understanding of who you are, we will create an environment that will truly enrich your most precious hours
Beyond the kitchen we offer the same passion and creativity within any room of your home. The serenity of a spa, the luxury of a master bedroom and dressing room suite; wherever the opportunity lies we will relish the challenge and enjoy creating an outstanding interior for you.
Contemporary, architectural design with furniture of exceptional quality custom-made in Scotland to our exact specification. Timber, Laminate, Glass, Concrete Render, Lacquer, Corian and Metal. Globally sourced, modern, engineered materials are specified in the construction of this collection in which we design each cabinet to suit its purpose without the constraints of mass manufacture.
Our partners at Mowlem & Co have been crafting bespoke kitchens and furniture for more than 25 years. Elegant use of natural timbers and exceptional craftsmanship result in the finest cabinetry available. Every element of their award-winning work is entirely handmade, assembled and finished using carefully selected batches of the very finest materials available. This discerning offering results in complete creative freedom, allowing us to meet your most exacting of requirements in the most inspired way possible. Every Mowlem & Co project is unique to you, lovingly created and constructed in their purpose-built workshop in Newcastle upon Tyne.
A thorough design brief is the key to creating the best possible design for you. We’ll discuss everything in relation to how you and your family live and intend to use the space. Your relationship with cookery, social use of the space, aesthetics and materials are critical details along with the structural elements to the project such as budget, timescale and installation requirements.
To conclude this stage you’ll receive a project proposal; a document which reflects our conversations to ensure we’ve properly understood your design brief.
This is the part we’re renowned for, our exceptional creative work! First on the agenda is to present you with our design concept for your project. We aim to be innovative and inspirational with every design and firmly believe you’ll be presented with an unrivalled proposal for your consideration and approval.
Having approved the design concept and commissioned the project we’ll continue our journey onto the detailing phase. Taking time at this stage to evolve the initial design and mould it into the perfect solution for you is critical to the success of our designs, and to your enjoyment of the space for years to come.
Now the fun begins. There is nothing more satisfying than watching one of our creations coming to life!
This is another critical element of the DK&I ethos. We believe that there is nobody better positioned than your designer to undertake the management of your project. The low volume principles of DK&I enable the designer to continue along the entire journey with you, bringing to the table an unrivalled understanding of you and your project that can be communicated effectively to all involved parties throughout construction and installation. Your designer will be on site with you and your construction team, providing guidance and advice in all aspects whether you’ve chosen to contract DK&I to undertake the installation or not.
Quite simply, we promise to take care of you and your products. Naturally, your purchase is protected by guarantees but aftercare is more than that. It’s an attitude born from respect for our clients and a culture that nourishes those all-important relationships.
